Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) is one of the largest and most respected banks in the UAE. Start Design helped the company undertake a major rebrand, from brand strategy, positioning and architecture to creating the new visual identity, graphic system, tone of voice and dual-language integrated communications.

We also designed an entirely new retail experience across their entire real estate, including architectural design, internal and external signage, and all branch communications. The brand was shaped by ADCB’s enduring commitment to customer service, and the new branch interiors designed to be intuitive, with bespoke fixtures and finishes combining to create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

The positioning is reflected in a distinctive brand identity and brand architecture that connects Essar’s various businesses and gives the company the confidence to plan a bright future.

The rebranding of ADCB and the new branch format have significantly enhanced the overall customer experience, and successfully reduced queues and waiting time. This was achieved by doubling the number of counters within the same footprint, while also reducing implementation costs by 50%. Not surprisingly, ADCB is now officially the UAE’s preferred bank.
